My Dad would've been 93 on April 22nd and he loved Spitfires.
I even made a cake once for his birthday with a Spitfire on top and round the edge I painted hedges, flowers , etc, with British and German planes flying in the sky and Biggles-type banter going on, as speech-bubbles from the cockpits. It was great fun to do, even if it took 'burning the midnight oil' to finish it.
Once I start a project, I can't stop - bit "Newton-ish" - I admit!
