Sad Day For Canada. 16 Dead

A country that normally has a good track record with regard to firearm possession. Ownership is more stringent than the USA and licensing is administered by the RCMP unlike the USA who don't care too much. The perpetrator was described as a kindly sort. What made him flip?
Sad for all involved.

They are very strict in Canada re gun licences. I remember when my OH applied for his licence in Alberta, the local RCMP rang me up and questioned me as to his mental stability - i.e. had he ever shown any signs of aggression etc. I was flabbergasted......but its the norm apparently.
No one will ever know why he flipped it is so very sad.

It’s one thing to go deranged and to destroy yourself. But, I cannot understand why you would deliberately murder innocent people, thereby also effectively permanently damaging their loved ones as well.

He may have just killed the people he had a grudge against and then felt that he had nothing to lose, so just let rip. Hard to understand; but 'yes' it is a sad day.

The deaths have risen to 19 now, and "are expected to rise further."

The death-toll has now risen to 23, and the police have not completely investigated all scenes, some of which involved house fires.
