How did this guy get on tv? What is his talent exactly....cos he ain’t funny? Any fans out there please explain his appeal cos it passes me by. Mind you, I’m also left stone cold by Micky Flanagan and Ross Noble. Am I alone in this?

Joel I can take or leave. I love Micky Flanagan and I like Ross Noble on HIGNFY and QI. I can't stand Romesh Ranganathan and don't understand why he gets so many shows. He's on nearly every channel doing something or other.

Neither do I get the appeal of Clare Balding, Sue Perkins, or Steph McGovern - all unlikeable in my opinion - but they tick a different box (in more than one sense)

I can't understand what gripe you have with the ladies you mentioned, all of whom have fairly bright cheerful dispositions. The fact they are all gay is not something any of them make a big song and dance over (not compared to Sandi Toksvig or Susan Calman, both of whom I actually quite like (Toksvig especially)).

As for Ranganathan and Kumar (the latter I can't abide), they just happen to be in that group of comedians that seem to be getting a lot of exposure right one. You could just as easily had mentioned Josh Widdicombe, Aislyne Bea, Jon Richardson, Roisin Conarty, Jimmy Carr...

Kumar just isn't funny.
You shouldn't be able to make a living by either laughing hysterically at other comedians or giving a bemused look into the camera when you are the butt of a joke.
