My cousin's husband passed recently from covid-19. In the card I want to put some money for her and her children to have a drink as no one can attend.
How can I phrase it so it doesn't sound vulgar.
Thanks.

"I'll be raising a glass to (name)'s memory. I hope that the enclosed will help you to do so too".

this is for my round please join me and raise a toast at 8pm on Friday
lots of love and fond memories
might you think about sending a bottle instead via a gift service?
Just say:- please accept a donation for yourself and your family to celebrate the the life of (name of person)on my (our) behalf
I think Johnny.5's idea is the best because it suggests you are paying for a round, rather than giving them money -which they may find a bit uncomfortable. Other ideas would be to order a plant that they could put in the garden in his memory ( or in the back yard)

Agree Aunt Polly. And I've gone with his suggestion.
Thanks Johnny.
