knee problems

Anyone got any advice on home remedies for 'housemaid's knee' ( self diagnosis). I was doing a lot of flooring work a few months ago ( type of work I am not used to ) and my right knee has been giving me bother ever since. It feels tight and painful when I bend it more than half of the normal range of movement - no redness. My GP says it is either arthritis or wear and tear. I feel she is jumping to conclusions with her diagnosis and suspect that I have caused the problem with the aforementioned activity. Any advice or home cures appreciated.

Traxam and Feldene are good over the counter gels to rub in to the knee.
Go back to your GP and insist on an Xray..she cannot see inside your knee !!
You could have done some damage ..if it was bursitis the knee would be inflamed and puffy..
