I can’t remember the rhymes we used to keep the rhythm going but I know we ‘juggled’ them one at a time straight at the wall, and then overarm, and then we bounced them under our knee at the wall, and then one against the wall and one up vertically - so all clever stuff!

So a new hobby during lockdown - I’ve bought two balls (a pack of three tennis balls actually so I might get really clever again) and the garden wall is about to take a battering!

Is anyone else reverting to childhood - or is it just me the lockdown’s getting to? ;o)

I remember the hand clapping games too.
Naomi, three-ball juggling is good fun and it is more controlled and practical for indoor use.
My friend Elaine could do three balls against the wall and I never managed it :-(
Remember it well.
My sister and her mates were always playing this.
I remember playing this as a child. Had so much fun. It wasn't a case of, 'Oh, I'm bored, let's throw some balls against a wall' Quite happy and content!
You could always try 'tissing up' against the wall Naomi. Don't forget to tuck your skirt into your knickers, though!!!
We had a rhyme which we used, which went:-

North Staffordshire railway loopy line
I say number one.

You continued up to ten the changed the action with the balls.
Over, uppies, droppies, kneesies, backsies etc, etc.

I'm sure there were more rhymes but I can't think of any more at the moment.
Red rover, and British bulldog would be very strange in present times
One potato
Two potatoes three potatoes four
Five potatoes six potatoes seven potatoes more

Can't remember the rest.
Thank you, Douglas, I thought it was just me.

This reminds me of Richie Benaud playing in a celebrity golf tournament with Peter Alliss. Benaud had a tricky short putt that Alliss described as a knee trembler. Benaud said, in a broad Aussie accent, "That means something completely different where I come from!"
♪ One potato, two potatoes, three potatoes - four
Five potatoes, six potatoes, seven potatoes - more
Eight potatoes, nine potatoes, ten potatoes - all ♪

I used to love Two Balls and we made up many rhymes.
