Anyone watching this? Beautifully acted and directed, though strange decision to do it in 12 half-hour episodes. Big career ahead for the two talented leads, I'd say. Great to see Trinity College, too, been there many times long ago.

I loved it. Binged watched . The subject matter meant a lot to me.
I’m very much in the minority with this. I watched the first one and didn’t think much, but because it was so hyped I gave the second episode a go, got 10 minutes in and switched it off.
agree racky
may give it another go as your reviews

off after ten mins - and returned to my dictionary..... yes I am copying out a dictionary in lock down time ( NT Greek - I wanna be able to read NT wivvart holding a dictionary in my other hand - well read it in English you stuppid boy!)

it was that bad - but I have time - - lots of time so I will geev it another go
taboo - wiv Tom Hardy is worf a look ( if you like him in Peaky Blinders as Avraham ) but dark - it is dark all right

Gangs of London - very violent - Black Crows - if you can get over them burying the Yazdi slaves alive in episode 2 you can last the whole lot
and Fauda - also v v violent - both the last erm not really in English
i tried that but it was all Greek to me ...

It would have fit into two half-hour episodes without the sex. I thought the two leads were brilliant, but I haven’t read the book so have no idea how accurate the portrayals were. All the cast were good, though the rest didn’t have much to work with. It felt a bit like you were watching the author’s fantasised version of her own coming of age.
I'm half way through episode 2 but finding it hard to get into so watching other things. Will definitely give it another go though.
Yes it is slow but the story is delicate and dealing with subject matter that is fluctuating all the time. Much like what happens in real life.
I have watched it all and am really impressed with the direction and unbelievably good actors. Teenage love must be one of the more difficult subjects to portray when the young people themselves are still struggling to find their way. Their personal difficulties do become clearer towards the end.
Didn’t get past the first two ‘soft porn’ episodes. Should we persevere?
Yes,
I watched it before seeing all the hype about it. Maybe I'm in the wrong age group (70s) and it's aimed at a younger audience but I didn't really believe in the couple. Yes, they had a great relationship in bed but outside that, they seemed to have nothing of note to say to each other and I couldn't believe that they would want to be together - apart from the great sex they were enjoying.
