At a wedding the other night there was a song in which a voice speaks not sings in an American accent and said 'we want to be free' or 'I want to be free' or something like that - I looked around and it is not the one by Peran, anyone got any ideas ???
Sounds like it might be Baz Luhrman's 'Sunscreen'; it is all spoken word to a housey backing track, and he does say "Everybody Free To Wear Sunscreen". He's better known as the director of Romeo + Juliet and Strictly Ballroom.
Failing that, try 'Loaded' by Primal Scream. That's kinda acid housey, but its got a brass section. There is a mad bit where a man can be heard shouting 'Everybodys gotta be free, to do what they wanna do...'
I think i am right in thinking that the vocal that you are referrring to is from a film and it is Peter Fonda who says it and it has been used in lots of songs over the years , i cant remember the name of the film though which is now bugging me!
Sooper - the sample in Loaded is indeed the voice of Peter Fonda. It comes from the 1966 film The Wild Angels.
"We want to be free! We want to be free to do what we want to do!...And we want to get loaded. And we want to have a good time! And thats what were gonna do. Were gonna have a good time. Were gonna have a party!"
