London traffic lights.

Does anyone know why all traffic lights in London dont have a `white reflective surround' on them where as in the rest of the country we do? Just noticed it in the past few weeks.

I also wondered this but after a drunken discussion we decided that it was a space issue. A lot of roads arent that wide but they have lots of lights on a central reserve.

Might be wrong, but sounded good to us and Auntie Stella (Artois)
