Today we received a voucher from Brittany ferries, valid till June 2022, due to cancellation of our ferry crossing next Friday.
We have also received a full refund of the €500 deposit on the gite/villa we’d booked on Il de Re, received two weeks ago.
All in all quite satisfied with the way it’s all worked out, and hope anyone else whose holiday will not take place due to this ruddy virus doesn’t end up out of pocket.
Just have to decide whether or not to cancel a cottage in the Carlisle area for a week in November and lose the deposit. Have a few weeks/months to decide about that though. Two weeks ago it was a definite no no but now our thinking has changed.

Six of us were going to Arnhem at the beginning of this month and taking two cars on EuroTunnel. We booked economy return tickets earlier this year. When it became a no no to travel we asked for a refund on the tickets. No refund but as a gesture of 'good will'they gave us a voucher code to re book within 12 months. No good for us as the 12months expires from the date of booking and not departure. That would mean travelling, probably, in January. Not a satisfactory state of affairs. Hardly our fault.
All I had booked was a day trip to Paris on Eurostar. At just £29 each way it would hardly have been a major financial disaster if I'd lost my money but they've sent me an eVoucher for the £58. I can use it to make a booking up until May next year which, since you can usually book up to 6 months in advance, actually means that it will be valid for most of next year.

However getting to St Pancras International means taking a train to London and then using the Underground, while getting around Paris means using the Metro. So even putting to one side the problems of social distancing on the Eurostar service itself, it could be hard to stay away from others for a lot of the time. Further, there's not much point in me going to Paris until I know that there will be bars, restaurants and museums open for me to visit when I get there.

So I'm not currently rushing to re-book my trip.
Still waiting on BA and Qantas - it is coming - but 70 days and counting.
