Not long ago his star seemed to be in the ascendent yet you never hear of him now.

He's also involved with the organisation of the 2020 Olympic Games (which will now be held next year but will still be called the '2020 Games' anyway) but, once again, there's probably not much for him to do in that respect at the moment.
He seems not to have contributed to the work of the House of Lords for the past decade, apart from speaking on the subject of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Bill a couple of times last year.
I've served on a committee with Seb Coe, as well as meeting him socially at various functions. I sometimes found him a bit hard to get on with though, simply because we were much too alike (even though I'm rubbish at athletics!). We're both good at organising things but we both very definitely like them to be organised in our own way and not in anyone else's!

I have a photo of him with a colleague and myself outside Buckingham Palace. We were driving him the length of the Marathon route to check it's feasibility prior to the first London Marathon which he had a hand in organising.Wasn't keen on him.He completely forgot about the needs of the wheelchair athletes and their limitations.
Circa 1980 prior to 1st London Marathon. Planning Stage. Coe in the middle.

//Whatever happened to Steve Cram /Steve Ovett//
Steve Cram is a coach and mentor to young middle distance runners. He has also done some TV work since retiring from athletics in 1994.
Steve Ovett's later career was marred when he had a serious accident, impaling himself on some railings. He too did some TV work and he now lives in Australia.

Seb Coe presided over the 2012 London Olympics legacy plan, which was supposed to create a future for all the sporting venues and accommodation built for the Olympics.
Unfortunately that turned into a shambles. The London Stadium was eventually leased to the sleazy West Ham United Porn Barons at a ludicrously cheap rate that would take 200 years for the tax payers to get their money back.
Fortunately Coe legged it before the fans went ape-***.
