"As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK."

So why have I been in lockdown for two months during this beautiful weather?

Aren’t you a gardener? The guy who doesmy garden has been working for the last 8 weeks as he works alone
Most of the people I know have continued to work throughout this. Why couldn't a gardener?
I know a gardener who lives locally, he's been as busy as ever.
Further reinforcement of the view that response has been patchy, ineffectual and panicked over the period.
It's all made up as they go along.

The work ethic of The Devil will have to wait for another day. :-)
We have a gardener who lives up the road from us and he's never stopped -busier than ever he told me recently. All the window cleaners have not stopped either.
my window cleaner has worked right through, also my local man and van combo.
are you sure this hasn't been retroactively edited by Cummings?

Anyway, good question. March 19 was actually before the lockdown began, wasn't it?

Most of my clients have decided they're not in need of a gardener right now. They either: Can't afford it - Now have time themselves to do it - or decided it's too high risk.

Anyhow, not sure my question has anything to do with my profession. Maybe I shouldn't have put this in chatterbank.

JNO, yes indeed it was.

A side note, even if I was to be working, lockdown would still apply in my free time. So it's completely redundant to even mention work.

Tell that to the families of those that have died!
Why have you been on lockdown? So that you don’t add your death to the number of dead already
Do you go to the pubs/cafes every weekend. If you don't you're not missing much if you keep social distancing.

"So that you don’t add your death to the number of dead already?"

So we can control the virus, coronavirus.
I've worked throughout and having just had my wife check, I'm not dead.

It has never been inevitable as a result of excess media coverage to contract the virus and peg out, despite what the poorly lit long faces on the telly may say.

"Do you go to the pubs/cafes every weekend."

Yes, full English every Sunday at my local cafe with my friend / collegue.
It's been removed because it's being handled separately, not because it isn't High Consequence.
// So why have I been in lockdown for two months during this beautiful weather?//

because it WAS considered to be high risk prior to Mar 19th durrrr
when the facts change - I change my mind - what do you do? JMKeynes

and if you are in your late seventies or eighties believe me it is still high risk. and even if you arent, your clients are likely to be
