~From what I remember of it, he used to, in his words "change his waters" several times a day, and overnight there was a gadget he was hooked up to which put the liquid into him on a timer overnight.
The fluids were delivered to hs home and, again if memory serves, could have been delivered to another address if he wanted to go on holiday.
The process was pretty straightforward - he'd drain the fluid from hs abdomen, hook himself up to a replacement bag and let it drain into him while reading the paper or a book.
