No link, I just think that all the violence, looting, desecration etc has just put their own cause back immeasurably. There was a great deal of support from all quarters following the death of Mr Floyd. How quickly that capital was squandered.

Personally, I find the whole concept of 'Black Lives Matter' offensive. It infers that people of other ethnicities don't care about black people, which is a swingeing slur on any person who is not black, and it then infers that black lives need to be seen to matter more than other lives because of perceived injustices. Injustice sees no colour, so the idea that...

I dont think anyone has infiltraated BLM. They are a far left group (see their website) who are aligned with other far left agitators.

I think there is a huge gulf between the BLM organisation and its aims and what the ordinary black people want. From the ones I have spoken to over the years all they want is to be the same as everyone else, same opportunities, same pay, same respect. BLM go much further than that as they are a political organisation and I do believe they are harming what the ordinary majority of law abiding black people want.

You were bang on until your last sentence. andy doesn't appear to know very much about BLM and opposes them for the wrong reasons.

Nothing wrong with message 'Black Lives Matter' they obviously do. My problem with them is the real aims of the people who started the whole thing.

I am not sure that you know how much or how little I know about the organisation, which makes you pondering what I know or not to be problematic at least.

Similarly, you are on dodgy ground assuming that I 'oppose them for the wrong reasons'.

If you re-read my initial post, you will observe that I don't oppose the organisation, I oppose the concept of BLM, which is an entirely different issue that opposing the organisation itself.

// Nothing wrong with message 'Black Lives Matter' they obviously do. //

My problem is entirely with the message 'Black Lives Matter', for reasons I have explained at length.
//My problem is entirely with the message 'Black Lives Matter', for reasons I have explained at length.//

The problem isn't with the intent behind the slogan, BLM can scream that it doesnt mean other lives don't matter as much as they want, it will fall on deaf ears from some people, the problem is that the slogan is so open to interpretation, that it's extremely easy for their detractors to spin it on it's head.

"Black lives matter too" say the group's supporters.

"You're saying my life doesn't matter then?" say people who don't believe racism is that common.

And it won't change because BLM are too stubborn to change it, and their detractors are too distrusting of them to believe them.
