Mythos By Stephen Fry - For Ken4155

…and anyone else who may be interested. This has been a long time coming but I remember Ken asking me to report back to him on this book which I’ve only just finished…. I do have a habit of having several books on the go at any one time.
Anyway ….this is the re-telling of the Greek myths as only Stephen Fry could re-tell them. From the beginnings of the universe to Zeus’s thunderbolts to Hera’s jealousy, to Sisyphus cheating gullible death not once but twice. it simply bounds along. Witty, a chuckle on every page, full of footnotes and appendices detailing the current connection between the myths, the heavens, and language - all in all very readable and extremely enjoyable - for me at least. To anyone who is into that sort of thing I have no hesitation in recommending it. A treasure of a book.

About a third of the way through the second book in the Cardinal series, so will tackle Mythos after that. As I have already mentioned on here, I am an avid fan of all things Greek Myth, finding their version of how things 'came to be' no less plausible than the Christian version - or any other, for that matter. Ta for the reminder:-)
