My dog will pee on the carpet sometimes when he's desperate. I've used "normal" carpet cleaner to remove the stains but he's gone back to the same place. I'm sure I've read about something before that you can buy which has something extra in to take away the smell - so your pet doesn't realise he's been there before and shouldn't pee there again. Is this making sense?!!
Does anyone know what it is and more importantly, if it works?

Brilliant stuff. Use according to their instructions or shake the bottle then dilute it 50 50 with room temp water then dilute that according to your carpet shampooer instructions or use that dilution neat if you have the kind where you don't dilute the shampoo
No, no health issues or anything like that. Just on the odd occasion when he's left for longer than usual he sometimes has a little wee. I put papers down just in case (which he tends to use if he HAS to go) but sometimes its half on the papers and half on the carpet!
I found when house-training my rescue, that rather than spend a fortune on specialist cleaners...ordinary biological powder or liquid did the trick...no odour or stain left.
Agree with pasta, washing powder works a treat it has no amonia in it, most cleaning products have amonia in which is what is in wee, which encourages the dog to keep doing it...good luck
