An ambulance has been parked outside my neighbour's house. It had the usual orange zig zag markings on the back doors but I could not see the logo on the side.

It was National Co..... or National Ca.... with a green and yellow logo.

Unusually it had orange flashing lights on the top, not blue.

Any ideas what sort of ambulance this is?

Sounds like it patient transport rather than an ambulance.

Thanks, Chris. You could well be right, it is just different to the patient transport ambulances I usually see, though.
No problem, Burt...
possibly a private ambulance
LOL.
I have heard that they are for when they are causing an obstruction but it is not an emergency, so other road users can see them clearly.
what makes you think its an ambulance.could be national gas? water possibly
I have written to the emergency services a few months ago sugesting they should have a different colour light on their vehicles when they are loading a patient into an ambulance for example.
I can remember being on a busy road and the blue lights were left on to alert car drivers the ambulance was there.
It was causing confusion as motorists were stopping to let the ambulance go and I think to some extent it was dangerous.

It has AMBULANCE on the back, above the chevrons, Sin
Hi

I have just seen an Ambulance which appeared to have the same type of lights on today.
It looked like an elderly persons transport Ambulance as I saw a man in a wheel chair being loaded into it.
The lights were not on as it was in a normal parking bay but I think they may be used if they were on a busy road.
