I was listening to Radio One the other morning and they were reporting on the 4 people found dead in Manchester. The reporter said that the bodies were found in a house in Cheadle Hulme and went on to say, in a rather surprised manner "which is a posh area of Manchester" - what was the point to this?! Are only us common folk capable of murder?

yes, normally its accidental death by apshixitation whilst engaging in bizarre sexual practices and tax evasion - not common murder.

Not to diss Cheadle Hulme but it ain't no Beverly Hills, and anyway it's in Stockport, not Manchester. But then again I wouldn't expect the BBC to know where anything is outside Lahndan.

There's been many a family massacre in "posh" areas - remember Jeremy Bamber?

I wouldn't call Cheadle Hulme posh, however people do tend to associate crime with poorer areas, be it the case or not.

The nationals never seem to get it right, there was once a horrific murder near where I lived and everytime it was on the news or the newspapers they announced that it had taken place at E***** R*** (my asterixs), which was the name of a road and not the area where the murder had taken place. They seemed to get this from the railway station which was named after the road it was on. Possibly the point with the 'posh bit of Manchester' is that they were saying it wasn't drugs related and didn't take place in Moss Side.

I'm not anti-journalist (possibly because I'm one myself!) but anyone who expects even the BBC to be perfectly accurate and impartial must have just arrived from another planet!

This afternoon, a News 24 report about the alleged terrorists, who were recently arrested, had a studio presenter tell us that the case was being heard before Westminster Magistrates Court. They then cut to their reporter standing outside Horseferry Road Magistrates Court. Within a minute, another reporter stated that the case was before the High Court.

OK, those might be relatively minor details but, if the BBC doesn't even know where its own reporter is, it makes you wonder about the accuracy of the rest of their reports!

Sorry shanks I think you've mixed it with Liverpool
