Hi wee scottie
Hope this link helps..
Scholls used to do a liquid treatment (many moons ago) that you painted on - brush supplied in bottle - that was the most intense pain you could inflict upon yourself, but boy was it good. It would paint a 'film' over the fungus and was the best treatment known to man! Worth the few seconds agony just to clear the nasty, itchy, painful sore. But alas, they took it off the market (?) Still do creams etc, and the special athlete's foot talc is a good preventative method.

The secret is to always make sure you dry your tootsies carefully, especially between them. Clean socks/stockings always, cotton preferable. Do not use or allow others to use the same towel(s). Anyone suffering from A.F. should not go barefoot where others are walking barefoot, (which is easier said than done). Wear shoes that do not cause your feet to perspire (if possible). A.F. loves damp places, and can bring on an attack, when feet are hot and sweaty (summer time).

My husband went to docs who gave him a three month course of Lamisil tablets which eventually cleared it. You can buy Lamisil ointment in chemist - advertised on TV as 'Lamisol Once'. That may do the trick. Keep feet dry and powdered as tictactoe said, and be extra careful if you happen to wear wellington boots a lot.
Well I'll tell you something - all those that have never had athlete's foot...
It can be extremely painful. It itches like mad, it burns like hell, rubbing it (to stop the itching) only makes it worse, in other words it can send you hopping mad!!
So, if I (when suffering from it in the past) had known of Wardy's info, I would have gladly peed and peed over my feet quite happily, if I thought it was going to help erradicate it.
My main issue was not drying between my piggies properly, so that is when it took a hold. Like I said before the original Scholls liquid ointment was terrific - bl00dy painful to apply - stung like crazy - but boy good stuff.

I suffered from this for years and tried every type of powder and cream. They all worked for a few days but then it was back again despite washing and drying my feet carefully and only wearing either cotton socks or none at all.
Then I saw the advert for Lamasil and thought I might as well give it a try. To my amazement it seems to have worked. I used it twice a day for a week as indicated and haven't suffered at all despite the hot weather.
