Years ago when bro brought a sweet sour chicken of a night - the chicken seemed to be in batter - I guess like chicken nuggets - can you still get that

Chicken balls with a sweet and sour sauce.
Here Mamy, that's sweet and sour Hong Kong style.

Then I have had them - thought the balls were tasteless and not chickeny

like doughy taste
Sorry, I don't do sweet n sour.
I like sweet and sour but I don't like chicken. What meat could I substitute?
Strips or cubes of pork loin would work.
Prawns, Jack.

JJ...you can buy them frozen in the supermarket. They aren't too bad.
If you mean from a Chinese then agree ummmm is correct, they call them chicken/prawn/pork balls in batter now and come separate from the sauce. I love the Hong Kong style but the battered meat is already all soaked in sauce and vegetables.
M&S do a lovely sweet and sour, chicken in batter, when heated it goes really crispy, the sauce is in a different compartment and you heat that separately, it really is tasty.
