According to the Hermes website, the courier is suposed to knock/ring bell and wait, as well as take a photo of where package has been left.

I had a delivery from them a few days ago. They did ring the bell - but when I got there, no sign of the courier!

Spotted a parcel on neighbours doorstep today - they are away for 2 weeks! I assume by the condition of the parcel that it had been delivered today, as past 2 days have been very windy, and day before that was non stop rain! So much for waiting to confirm its been received!

Posty and Menzies courier always wait.

I'm lucky with my Hermes courier,we are now on first name terms - can you contact them to show your displeasure?

A little more training may do the trick.
Yes, hermes are awful. They put a card through my door saying they had left a parcel in my 'out house'.

Firstly, i was home so they defo did not ring the bell and secondly i dont have an 'out house'.

Opened the front door and there it was. Can only assume by 'out house' they meant outside the house! Very bizarre.

As its not my parcel it would have to be my neighbour that complains.

It may not have been the usual driver.
Hermes inform me as soon as they have a parcel for me. On the day of delivery they email to say if will be delivered within a certain time frame. I was asked once to leave the parcel and the front door ajar while they took a picture but more often than not, they pass it to me through an open window. Delivery man is always cheerful, so no complaints from me.
my Hermes courier and its usually the same person, calls me girl or a part of my name, he is what i call a cockney diamond geezer, funny and charming, we usually have a distanced chat. He usually hands me the parcels after taking a photo of them.
I’ve always had good service from Hermes, texts keeping me up to date. I tell them to leave the parcel in my front porch which they do but always ring the bell first.
Also there is usually a survey after delivery for my opinion of the service. I don’t know if they take any notice of a bad review.
Only one bad experience. All the other deliveries were excellent. On time and always knock or leave a note stating the package is with a neighbour

Now checking neighbours doorstep daily until they return!
My local hermes courier is lovely, as was the one before that. The van chap who comes directly out from the hub is very nice too.
