Hi, we have just got a minature poodle puppy and was wondering if anyone has any tips on helping him settle in with our 'leader' a un-neutered standard poodle!!! The older poodle is barking at him all the time but is wagging his tail (so i don't think he hates him!!!). They we introduced on neutral ground and we have ben trying not to show preferential treatment, although this can be tough when you don't know if the older dog may snap!! All together (ex pup) we have 3 dogs, two old very amiable dogs and the leader poodle (who is 5) so i understand his 'pack' is disrupted by the little'un but we are wiling to try anything and everything to make this change happy and smooth, but if anyone can help that'd be great :-) ta x x x

I think it will just take a little bit of time for him to get used to the other dog.

I would say just allow them to spend as much time as possible together so he gets used to him. If they eat close to each other and sleep in the same room, doing the things together that the older one enjoys doing, he'll soon realise the new one is not a threat in any way
