I have a Pug 207 2006 with the factory fit radio, I would like to replace it with a stereo with an aux socket which most of them seem to have nowadays, but they also all seem to have Bluetooth, my question is will Bluetooth mean it will need extra wiring to fit it etc., or can the old one be disconnected and the new one connect in its place with old wiring?
Fitting any third-party unit in place of the factory-fitted one is likely to require the use of an adapter for the wiring harness (e.g. https://tinyurl.com/y2q9x7hj ). However the availability of Bluetooth in a unit won't necessitate any additional wiring, per se.
Something like this should do. It uses a 3.5mm stereo jack for the audio input, so you might need an adapter depending on what you want to ‘connect’ to the car stereo.
Not shown clearly/explained is the unit’s power source, which appears to be a standard USB micro connection – so you might need a cigar-lighter unit that provides a USB power source.
