Probably a repeat but just seen Brian Turner handle raw chicken, rinse his hands with just water and then handle a roast chicken.

I've seen this happen a number of times on these shows but surely as chefs they are aware of raw chicken and food poisoning risks?

Yes...but if they stopped to wash their hands properly then we'd be watching a show of chefs washing their hands.

According to Radio times, this is a repeat - but it was live when originally broadcast. Time constraints on a live show mean there just isn't time available to do what you would do in a non-televised situation.

The trouble with that is that less experienced cooks may think that's ok and good practice when it isn't. Time restraints isn't a good enough reason...to me anyway. 20-30 seconds to wash hands.

Pasta....it's not a TV programmes fault if someone doesn't know to wash their hands correctly.

It's filmed live though even if it is a repeat.

One of the reasons James Martin left was because of the amount of complaints they received regarding hand washing. There was one woman who wrote in every single week.
