The BBC supply free coffee.
The comparison with the price of newspapers certainly puts it into perspective. When I was a paper boy in the 60s all the dailies were priced at 3d, apart from the Guardian which was 4d, and the Times which was 5d. For the price of a copy of the Telegraph today I could have bought 200 copies in 1964.
We haven't paid it. It seems we have 6 mths. to do so and things may have changed. If forced, we'll pay monthly by cheque (in arrears). Don't watch Peaky Blinders or any of the progs. which have been cited - Downton etc.. We watch Uni. Challenge, Only Connect and little else apart from BBC4 - and they say that they are discontinuing that. We'll pay 1/4 because that is all it is worth to us.
