She Said Good Boy To Me. Condescending?

Recently I made friends with a girl who happens to be younger than me. She called me a good boy after we meet up for the second time and I find it condescending. I just happen to be done with my meal and brought bowl to the kitchen while she was cleaning up other stuff. when I hand her the bowl, it was at that moment that she said im a good boy.
I'm wondering if she is just trying to be friendly, or trying to size me up.

I think we should all be careful as to what comes out of our mouths. Too many people just speak without any thought, and THAT can cause problems!

I say ‘good lad’ (not good boy) to and about all sorts of people from the fishmonger to a wicket-taking cricketer to my adult nephews and son.
It’s just an expression.

Nah she was just being friendly. I can see why you thought it condescending tho.
For eg I hate it when people I don’t know call me “love” or “darling” but.... I realise it’s just their banter n they mean no offence!
