Moderately easy this week, I think, but I still couldn't do better than my regular score of 4. So how about you?

Welcome to the club, Ken!

>>> Of course, being a Burnley lad, I got the last one correct

If there's ever a question about Ian McKellen, then I'll expect you to get that one right too, Ken ;-)

Also 4, Chris!

Welcome to the clubhouse, JJ109 but remember that latecomers have to buy everyone else a round before we'll let you squeeze in ;-)
Think Sir Ian moved to Bolton - or somewhere similar - shortly after he was born. Not exactly a Burnley lad.
dibbly-dobbly this week.

all best wishes to you Chris and furry friends.

That's between 4 and 6 then, Lady-J, which either means that you're joining me or that you've beaten me!

The feline foursome and I send our best wishes to you. (I've just had to retype that line 'cos Tablo decided to add to it by walking over the keyboard!)
6. I have to admit.
Glad you are all well. No more treatment needed? Now that is even better news.
Question Author
Well done, Lady-J! Joint leader!

I'm not quite out of the woods yet with my treatments though. I had my 9th chemo session yesterday, with a 10th (and hopefully final) one booked for three weeks time. I've got a telephone appointment booked with the consultant that day too, which will be rather silly as he'll be phoning me from his office while I'm still undergoing treatment in the same unit! On a previous phone call though he did drop a reference to radiotherapy into the conversation, so I've got a feeling that he's going to advise that I go through with that too when he next speaks to me.

Oh well, it can't be any worse than the chemo, I'm sure, except (as I understand it) that it might mean having to visit the hospital (12 miles from where I live) every weekday for about a month.

At least I'm feeling well though, which is the main thing!
Chris you are now really getting somewhere. I am so pleased. 12 miles to drive is not really that far if the treatment means you will eventually be fully recovered. Wish i could say the same. Lots of pain recently but after 2 visits for all sorts of ecg's and blood letting and other examinations this week all they have done is increase (double) one load of tablets to see if that helps. Not so far but I am hoping.
Question Author
I'll never be 'fully recovered', Lady-J, as my cancer is classed as 'incurable but treatable'. So I assume that the aim is simply to push the cancer into remission for as long as possible.

I'm sorry to read that you've been struggling a lot lately. (Apart from an occasional slight twinge in my arm, I've not experienced any pain. It must be awful for you). I hope that the double dose of drugs makes a difference to you.

If they doubled everything I'm on though, the drugs would probably weigh more than I do! I've had nine doses of tablets today (some with one tablet and some with two), three of soluble powders and one self-injection, along with having to change my hormone patches. I need to write out a daily list, otherwise I'd quickly lose track of everything!

I hope that the medics get you quickly sorted out soon ;-)
Thanks for your good wishes Chris. Just wosh thry would find the problem.

Treatable not as good as curable but better than the alternative. Will continue to wish you a pain-free life and one with as much enjoyment as possible.
4
7 for me :)
Back to 4 this week.
Question Author
Thanks, Lady-J. I hope that you get a proper diagnosis (enabling you to get some decent treatment) soon.

All the best people are on 4 this week ;-)
Welcome to our club, Emmie and Margo!

BRILLIANT, Divegirl!!! You're out on your own in the lead this week!!!
late to the party and I still only got a miseable 1! Good wishes to all my fellow quizzers.

You might be last (up to now, at least) to post, Woofgang, but you're not last when it comes to the scores!

You're not short of company on 1 either this week ;-)
