i need music, that you'd expect to be played whilst on hold, or in a lift, don't ask! I think this entails (excuse spelling dunno if it's right) having little bass, and no vocals.
Any help very much appreciated Thanks

Good Site, but not much on there for my needs, I'm really looking for song info, or an artist that specialises in music like this. Or if anyone knows where i can get the music from that would be great.
It needs to be a medium beat, little bass and no singing or vocals, or as little as possible.
Thanks Aslan.
... I think there will be some usefull info on here for you, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_music

heheh, strange friend, school thingy, and just generally hilarious, especially the example given on wikipedia. 'The Girl from Ipanema' its just a classic song for On-Hold!
..it is, isn't it....blues brothers in elevator...classic...
This is a site I have used before, but it's commercial (however you can listen to 30 and 59-second samples) These guys have been in the library music business since the 1930s, as well as being music publishers. (Library or production music is the technical term for the sort of thing you are looking for. It's sometimes called mood music.) CDs are available from their site, below.

You might also like to try the Test Card Circle (don't know the site for this one, but it's run by enthusiasts for the old test cards they used to show on TV and the music they played over them, which sounds like the sort of stuff you're looking for).

good hunting!
