How Tough Is Ielts?

Hi! I'm process for CANADA-PR visa. booked slot for IELTS exam. I'm not taking any coaching classes for that, have arranged some study materials, i.e., Cambridge IELTS volume 7, 8 & 9 . its very useful I guess. Kindly advice if it is easy/tough to earn 7 bands for someone who is preparing for IELTS at home. actually I'm first timer, so little bit tensed. :-)
