They sent me some some correspondence re the telephone bit saying as my contract was up I could either stay as it was or change to a different charging for the telephone ( I'll need to find the correspondence to have another read )- I believe it was regarding evening/weekend part of the charges
I only just noticed it a week or so ago , do did not reply to them and in the meantime they have instituted the new charges
My question is - have I effectively entered into a new contract and if I wanted to leave I would incur penalties ?
I have never asked for a change to TV/Tel/ internet package since i joined them
So ,when a contract period is up , and you don't ask for a change to your package ,do you effectively enter into a new contract period incurring charges for early termination ?
yes it rolls on automatically. It's only this year they have been made to tell you when it's about to expire. I got a notice this month, but I'm fuming it says 'end soon' no date so if you don't act quick you're still stuck!
Might be worth a phone call to say you had expected a reminder as there was no deadline date given?
yes it rolls on but it's only, effectively a 1 month rolling contract. So if you want out you have to give 30 days notice. Generally they'll let you make any changes short of leaving instantly. If you originally had a handset deal and you are happy with the handset you have, call them up and drop to a sim only deal which is a lot cheaper.
