Brilliant soloist, brilliant conductor - so enthusiastic! I could have done without the wonky version of Jerusalem - what was that all about? … and I’m sure they could have squeezed rather more singers into the choir, but all in all at this present time with all the troubles this country is dealing with, this evening had me in tears. Patriotism in the face of adversity. Who wouldn’t? Listening to that my instinct was sod BLM, sod Extinction Rebellion or whatever they’re called, and sod the ever-complaining ‘woke’. Tonight the silent majority has spoken …. and if the pedantic ‘someone’ arrives here to pontificate - whether it be in googled Greek, Latin, Chinese, Esperanto, or his usual Gobbledegook - that the silent majority don’t speak, I ‘shall’ (see what I did there?) refer him to that doyen of Britishness - Margot Leadbetter - champion of the backbone of Britain. ;o)
