Prior to using Firefox (thanks to AB) I was using Netscape which I use very occasionally apart from netscape mail so had not actually removed. Yesterday whilst trying to access my mail I was blocked with an invalid message and ref#330 In fact I no longer wish to use the mail service but have one or two accounts that include it in my profile and need to update. To access the mail I use roboform so I know nothing has changed perhaps netscape have made changes I am unaware of. What I would like to do is access the last few old emails in my box and save to my new google email box (also courtesy of ABer thanks) None of this is vital fortunately but if anyone can explain the reason and advise re access to mail I would be grateful. I have now actually removed Netscape8 via add&remove progs. Also still listed are netscape web access and netscape internet service which I presume need to be removed too thanks
Thanks for responding fo3nix perhaps my question wasn't clear. I started using Thunderbird at same time as Firefox sometime last year except for netscape mail I had a netscape address for many years and used shopping etc when I preferred that to my personal email address hence I left a few emails in the box with reference to them. I had started eliminating them and changing my contact email on these sites but due to this error ref #330 whatever that may be I cannot complete this. If I can't get round that I can probably do what I need to do from my roboform list
thanks again - have a nice rest of the weekend
I have visited the sites above accessed live chat - have a netscape.net address not .com and was passed over to netscape web mail help - it seems there was an upgrade!! to AOL on 25th August so thats what it is all about probably just as well I decided to leave anyway
Have discovered there was a netscape mail upgrade on 25th August to AIM which at least explains there is something going on which may not be going totally to plan. It appears I may be able to access my mail via Thunderbird using IMAP and will look into it further in the week.
Hope I can come back if I need help with above and sincere thanks so far
Yea I read there was some upgrade too. Perhaps it is just that then.. the error message you quote is definitely an internal one relating to Netscape themselves.
thanks again fo3nix I have spent some time this am trying to sort this without success by setting up additional account Thunderbird Will try to find forum where others may have had a problem and sorted it would like to know if its just me - I doubt it
