ps2 error help pleeeeese!!

my ps2 keeps on freezing in the middle of games. i know there is a way of cleaning the lense and stuff, but i want to know if there is any tips you can give me for making the error dissapear without turning off the ps2, so i can stay at the same place on the game. thanx

Can�t you save the game, use a propriety lens cleaner the restart you game?
