...why the right-click button on my wireless mouse has suddenly stopped working? The left-click button is fine, as is the right-click on my touch pad. Just time for a new mouse?

It may just need a clean. Even wireless mice are susceptible to dust, crumbs, etc.

but, as the touch-pad is working normally, I strongly suspect that it's time for a new mouse.

Brilliant Jim. I've just given it a good dusting and it's working now.
Mine is still down, hope it's nothing sinister.

Possible. Go into settings/mouse and check that your priority button is left.
