After 2 or 3 years of happy sitting on my toilet - toilet seat has broken off at the hinges. Now I need to buy a new one. However I am puny and weak and can't turn the screws at the bottom off - anything I can use.
Also if I am to put this new toilet seat on myself I need to have top fittings. Any recommendations please.
old toilet seat off, new pine one on courtesy of nephew of course. Great job and when I took the seat out of the package and saw all the "bits" and have seen how tight nephew has installed - I couldn't have done it in a million years. Even if I did have the power.
As an ex vinyl fitter, fitting many a bathroom. I had to lean on and over many a toilet. Seats loose and sliding, some not fixed at all. Some ponging, others less salubrious than a blocked drain. Nowadays I jus sit and do not fit. Glad you got a man in for the job.
that's right David - I did have some years of loose toilet seats but the last one was about 2 years ago and nephew put that one on too and it remained tight - as I said just broke off at the hinges cos I never stop cleaning it, but this time I will not be using bleach just bathroom cleaner.
