I recently received a cheque for incapacity benifit and it is crossed does this mean pay only in to my account or can I pay it in too someone elses account

If you do not have a bank account, try to open one. But it might not be agood idea to tell them you are on incapacity benefit, as they might not open the account. They will think they cannot make any money out of you! You will need two documentary proofs of identity, e.g. birth certificate/driver's licence.
