Check out the column 'deaths per 100,000' it gives a realistic comparison, however I imagine some countries are not showing properly counted figures.

SHARONA, if you look at the second graph on the page here,
https:/ /www.wo rldomet ers.inf o/coron avirus/ country /uk/
you'll see that the daily numbers are going up and are in the thousands, having been in the hundreds a few month ago.
That's the second spike.

Except that isn't really the point. I said earlier that the UK is "among the worst-hit" -- what matters for that is merely the rough order of magnitude. Bearing in mind, too, that the UK's own total on the source we are using is probably an under-count, it's not like we could assume other countries are the only ones whose figures need adjusting conveniently upwards.
There's no reason for controversy here. With the exception of countries who are obviously lying (China, Iran, Russia, North Korea), the UK is in the group of worst-hit countries -- a group that includes Spain, Italy, Sweden, and France in Europe; the USA and Mexico; and several South American countries, of which Peru and Brazil are the most notable. Whereabouts in that block the UK ranks specifically I don't know, as it's sensitive to questions of how the data were gathered; but that the UK is in this group is undeniable.
