Keep trying to download it but the little circle thingy just keeps going round. I've got a Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015). Anyone know what I should do?

if you go to "about" within the app, it lists the manufacturer and maintainer as "NHS Test & Trace" with an address within the Department of Health and Social Care building at Victoria Street.
are you alleging you have evidence that the information in the app is a great big porkie and the app has nothing to do with the NHS? do you have evidence to back such an allegation?

As it was sold, the Galaxy J5 was powered by the Android 5.1 operating system. The NHS Covid-19 app can't be used with that version of Android, as it requires version 6.0 or later. So that might well be the cause of your problem.
However the operating system on a Galaxy J5 can be updated to version 6.0.1, which the app should then work with. (It works on my Alcatel phone, which uses Android 6.0).
So check which version of Android your phone uses and, if necessary, update it:

It will load on a 5.1 operating system Lankeela but will not open and let you enter the first bit of your postcode. I would uninstal it and wait and see whether they tweak it to operate on earlier Android s ystems if it is successful. I loaded and can operate it on my phone but "SHe who must be obeyed" has a phone with the same os as yours and cannot. No sweat we can use the one phone if we go out seperately(I do not go to her hairdressers or the place that gives her a regular polish)
