Unemployment is now heading for the worst figures in decades, because of Covid .Even worse than it was in the dreadful "Thatcher Years". Will it get even worse after we leave the Transition period for Brexit 1st jan 2021 .

Sunk, Pet, at least all those 'Labour thickos in safe Labour seats in’t North' know that Hartlepool is not in 'Geordie Land'. They would also tell you that your limp wristed attempt at a 'northern accent' is also nowhere near Geordie - they don't say 'in't' (or 'oop for that matter) that's about 50 miles south of Newcastle.
Those sorts of generalisations, especially when trying to make derogatory statements, makes you look rather like the description of the Middlesbrough MP you were scorning. (except I doubt you are a lecturer)

unemployment will get worse whilst we continue with this "cure" that is worse than the disease, simples. No government would have done any better or any different. The government must walk a fine line between politics and what the "experts" advise. At some point they will realise that what we are doing is a) not working and b) trashing the economy whilst not working. We may as well get back to as close to normal as we can manage and firefight the issues.
