Ben in eastenders....his acting

In these days of excellent child actors, does any one think that Ben was cast wrongly and that he is a terrible actor

I think most child actors are awful!! the ones in Harry Potter (though teenagers now I suppose) are terrible!!

Agree totally. Wondered if perhaps it was 'nerves' to begin with, but it's still just as bad.

I find him completely unwatchable and get the impression (or it's just my imagination!) that the actors in the same scene find it hard, too... but i'm sure he's a lovely 'fluent' child in reality!

I think he's awful too, although i don't think all child actors are that bad. I love Chesney in corrie!

Yeah tom is a great little kid actor...i thought he was good last night when he lay on the floor crying...it was sooo realistic!

Considering he has been raised in South Africa, his accent seems to have been left behind when he came over here - along with any acting skill he may have had.

although he's a rubbish actor and totally unlike any Mitchell anywhere (even if he was brought up on the moon you'd think he'd be a little less of a wimp) at least he's not as irritating as Courtney. I really dislike that girl.

Chesney (Corrie) is great tho.

standard of child actors seems terrible now. can remember a few in the 90s.... films like problem child with that little girl.

stand by me shows child actors at their best really.... compare will wheaton and river pheonix to "ben" and it's hard to even call him an actor.... the kid who played teenage damian in only fools and horses is probably the worst i;ve seen, especially considering the show he somehow got cast on.

Tom in Hollyoaks is the best child actor I have ever seen. I remember the episodes where he had run away from home and was living rough near a graveyard, I got really upset cos his acting was so realistic.

I totaly disagree re Ben. He has, after all, just lost his mum & step dad, been uprooted & bought to a strange country to live with people he`s never met, apart from Ian. Met the Mitchells & in his mind been the cause of loads of arguments. I think the young actor playing Ben is handling this role very well. At the moment the character has nothing to be happy about whereas Chesney`s role is mostly comedy.

He's an okay actor, but to be honest, Idon'tlike him one bit. I've been brought up acting myself, I love it, and I sit for hours on the internet microphone acting out pieces of drama with my friend who also acts.
I don't think he was up for that part, one of the most basic things in drama is expressive and emotive language,
1-he's absolutely ridiculous at crying, not on cue, not crying, he just kinda murmurs and puts his hands on his eyes and runs away...strange child...
Sorry, I'm too harsh!!
