I never said he was on holyday with them cloverjo. He was in a diffrent country for 2 weeks. He cant need to be in the same room for the next 2 weeks if he managed for 2 weeks without them.
A know someone like this who was realy smug about it all and thought it was all a made up scare and was boasting about he won't going to fall for all the BS and wear mask's or social distance or stop partying ... until his best freind died of corona.
You may not like it bobbin but the rules are "The people you’re staying with do not need to stay at home, unless they travelled with you". Nobody is told to stay away from the people they live with while isolating and those people can still go out/to work etc.
Bobbinwales:

//You could feel realy smug then if you were lying even if you then kill someone accidently by passing on a deadly virus. Some peopel are selfish but think there clever.//

I think you've missed the point - what we are saying is that here is no foolproof way of checking if people are in quarantine or self isolating. Even when a hospital asks that you do they don't check that you have actually done it and they would have to accept any answer you gave.
Did he really though, or are you just making that up to ‘prove’ your point?
//with those in quarantine being told that they may be visited by public health officials at any time\\

// For public health officials read Gestapo. //

Read the Invisible Man. No one is going to check.
Yes edmund we know theres no way of checking up on most peopel. So what. But that doesnt excuse them from not quarantening for the 2 weeks. It relys on trust. The alternative is to lock peopel up. A dont think peopel want that but it will after happen if enough peopel abuse it and sellfishly put others at risk. So whats your point- are you saying peopel should be locked up for2 weeks or be vistied twice a day maybe to be checked. A dont think so
Mamylynn summed it up perfect as a said earlier
A bet many of those mocking the quarantine rule's are the same one's who was saying six months ago why are we allowing peopel from Spain, Italy to fly into Uk, we should quarantene them or not let them in at all
Mine was an off the cuff remark, however there has been endless criticism of the rules/guidance/advice throughout and of course some of it has been ill thought out

Each of us must do as we feel is right and safe both for ourselves and our families and others we may meet.

I was certainly not advocating a lock and key approach simply saying what the alternative may have to be if folk couldn't be trusted to be sensible.
"Each of us must do as we feel is right and safe both for ourselves and our families and others we may meet."

Absobloodylutely.

And without a 'Covid Marshal' telling us what we can and cannot do.

I have yet to meet a 'Covid Marshal', and I hope I never do (because they will, without doubt, be pi..sed on power), but are we really meant to take these people seriously?

//No brainer. He should keep seprate from them. Why would he want to risk infecting them. Why be sellfish//

//Peopel look for excuses when the answers obvius//

Perhaps it’s the question that isn’t too obvious.

In the last seven days Portugal has seen 69 new recorded infections per 100,000 people. In that same period the UK has seen 159 new recorded infections per 100,000 people (almost two and a half times as many). So although the answer may be obvious to you, the question is not really why should people refuse to quarantine. It is why should they be expected to? Whilst in Portugal, nailit’s mate had only 40% of the likelihood of encountering an infected person that he had if he had remained in the UK. So why should he be expected to quarantine when returning from an area where he had a far smaller chance of catching the virus? If anything he should insist that everybody in his locality in the UK should quarantine because they are far more likely to infect him than he is to infect them.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to insist on quarantine for people travelling from places with lower infection rates than the place they return to just on the basis that the place they came from is abroad. But let's not allow simple arithmetic get in the way of inane hysteria.
Bobbin, I meant you can hardly expect a man to sit in one room for two weeks while the adult children get on with their lives (albeit with restrictions). What about eating and going to the bathroom?
//Bobbin, I meant you can hardly expect a man to sit in one room for two weeks while the adult children get on with their lives...//

Oh he does, jo, believe me he does.
bobbin - calm down for goodness sakes, or you'll implode!
Why 14 days ...surely if you were going to get it , you would get it in the first 7 days??
