Researchers are looking for 5,000 volunteers to take part in a trial to test whether Vitamin D can protect against Covid and other upper respiratory infections. This applies to people who do not already supplement with Vitamin D.

I think it's an important study that needs to be done...and not just for vitamin D's role in reducing the effects of covid. As most people in the UK are low on vitamin D this sends out a message about how important it is for general health.
Oh...and if you're going to get your D via the sun, you've got to do it without sunscreen. Only 15-30 minutes needed in strong sun if I'm not mistaken.

I will throw an actual fact into the mix. For over the last 10 years that we lived in France (can't remember exactly) OH's G.P. prescribed a huge (really huge) oral dose of Vit. D every Autumn - to give protection for the Winter against colds etc.. It was standard for older people. Perhaps asking about practice in other countries could save a lot of time?
