Jackdaw - I do understand where you are coming from on the subject of female priests. I felt the same for ages, but came round - and I'm female. I wish you peace in your decisions.

Jourdain/ Jack: The draw to Rome, which for me has been there for a long time, isn't necessarily (or in fact at all) about women priests etc. but about the aspect of the confession.

I was surprised at Khandro's comment 7.28 Mon. 19 Oct. I assumed that churches were not allowed to open during the start of lockdown and afterwards back in March? I often meet a lovely, lovely man when out dog walking, a priest at a local church and we stop and chat. He is devastated that the church can't offer people what they normally do because of lockdown and worries that they will never be able to operate properly again. I haven't seen him recently. I'm not a churchgoer, but I was sad for him and his obvious distress.

iluv. Some priests with locked churches have held open-air services, I know that has been the case in Poland, but then the Poles are a people who are not easily put off.

It's not so much the services though Khandro, it was not being able to open his doors to any of his parishioners in need. I don't think it's fair to tar them all with the same brush.
