Only 1% of all legal proceedings are non possession related.

All the rest have some connection with ownership...

burglary, fraud, stealing, land, boundary, scams, business malpractice, injury/murder for possession of goods/business, blackmail, ransom, property....to name but a few...

it means that the law tends to favour the status quo; the law makes it easier to keep something you've got than to take something away from someone else.
