Spin Dryer Has Gone Yellow
13 Answers
I stored my spin dryer in a cupboard away from sunlight and I need to use it again and the plastic has turned dark yellow. I thought storing in the dark would prevent this. Is there anyway to restore it

Cif or Gif.. preferably the white cream. One product that will fix it if it is fixable.. and you are less likely to have it, is Rubbing Compound. Often used to restore paintwork on a car body.
Plastic sometimes fades for no reason and there is little you can do about it.

Today I've been looking at replacing my bath panel because it has turned yellow, to be fair its about 15 years old, but no cracks or splits, it just spoils the look of the whole bathroom, but the price for mine is just silly, Around £80/90, and the chances are it won't be the same quality. Some of the early UPVC doors turned yellow due to a chemical reaction I believe. Any how back to the bath panel, after some research this morning, some say that Hydrongen Peroxide gel will bring the whiteness back?? Not decided yet what to do, HP is not expensive to buy it appears.
Just to add to the above, in most cases it is the lack of light that helps turn the white to yellow, its to do with the oil that's used in the production of the plastic . To give you some idea, if you paint a interior door in white oil based gloss, and the one side gets lots of sun light, it will stop white for longer, the other side, if in the dark most of the time will go yellow very fast.
