As I posted he had his tonsils out a week or so ago. He is 21 by the way.
He has gone back in hospital for the third time since the op.
He keeps coughing up blood. They have reoperated twice since the op and they are going to do it again today. What on earth is going wrong with him?
What makes it difficult is the whole family are in quarantine due to his sister testing positive for covid yesterday.

"About five out of 100 adults will return to hospital with bleeding which may need admission for observation or treating. Only one in a 100 will need to have a second operation to stop the bleeding".
So it seems that problems with bleeding after the op aren't actually that unusual. Unfortunately though your grandson seems to one of the minority who have such problems.
As Buencico says, once back to theatre is not uncommon, but more than that is extremely uncommon.
This means that he probably has an infection and needs antibiotics and almost certainly needs blood tests to exclude an undiagnosed blood disorder.
The former is far more likely.
21 I didnt want to cheer you up - it is more infected and operations more difficult
the numbers I regard as high - but the majority are done in children who shake it off. - - used to be done on the kitchen table with a guillotine 1920s
made my blood run cold !
