Why do I receive spam not even addressed to me

I have read previous answers. I am receiving about 10 or more emails a day giving USA Stock Market Information. What I do not understand is that they are not addressed to me but each one is always unique and different people@blueyonder and from different senders each time. Why do I get them? Can I filter them in Outlook Express ?

Your email address could be in the BCC field, so you can't see it but it is addressed to you
