Messenger for Mac

I'm having problems logging on. I keep getting a message saying there are problems with the .net application and then it opens my browser and directs me to a microsoft help page that does not exist! The same is happening for my girlfriends account too. I am using version 5.1. Any one got this problem or know how to sort it? Thanks.

I'd also recommend adium:

And adium is a free instant messenger client, that can be used with msn, aol, etc. so you'll still be able to login as normal.
