My car passed mot today with advisory of slight cracking on two front and one back tyre. I always go to this garage and usually get any advisories done pronto. He said to check them in about 6 months. Does this mean they are not too bad and safe to drive

Check the year-code on the tyre wall. There is a 4-digit code on the tyre wall; the first 2 digits are the week number and the last 2 digits are the year number eg, 0118 is week 1 of 2018. The recommendation is that tyres over about 7 years old should be changed, regardless of tread wear as sunlight ages the rubber. Other than that, unless the cracks are very pronounced, I wouldn't worry too much but keep an eye on them.
There's cracks and cracks, should they not have been safe you're car would have failed, it sounds as if you have what they call hair line cracks, so ok, unless you're thinking of doing 70 mph up and down the motorway every day. :0)
if you got your MOT they're safe, but do check them out in less than a year. My MOT man advised me one year a tyre was looking a bit worn; I didn't do anything and the next year he passed it again, this time without even the advisory. It must have been self-healing.
I agree with Teacake, think about the type of journey you make.

If you regularly drive at high speed, I would be worried. If you poodle to the shops at low speed there is less to be concerned about.

Thanks. Thats reassuring. I know sometimes you get advisories and they are not picked up again. I will check the date on the tyres and keep and eye on them
