They keep putting the time/date when things will be normal, back. It's because they are forever kicking the can instead of accepting the virus and getting on despite it. Come next winter it'll probably be, "Back to normal in July". Followed by, "Back to normal by Xmas".

whether that comes to pass for you might depend on what your definition of "normal" is. you may well be able to go on holiday, go to the pub, your favourite restaurant. but willing to bet we'll all still be socially distancing and wearing masks until well past summer 2022, and maybe until the next election. "Let's Get Back to Normal" might well be an election slogan for one of the parties - if they're brave enough to do it.

well, the claim is based on the vaccine working. If it does so and is widely available (ie if the government don't contract it out to UPS or something) then I would have thought back to normal in months rather than years. Big "if", maybe.
